Welcome to our web site! This site was created primarily to aid our members in registering for our annual skeet shooting championships, but it also contains lots of useful and interesting information about our Association.
A new Public Law says that retired veterans are authorized to salute when the flag is hoisted, lowered, or passing in a parade or in review.
Registration for the 2009 ASSC will start on 15 Jan 2009 for referees and 1 Feb 2009 for all other shooters. All registration will be conducted through this web site as usual.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT - AMMO. High Desert Sportsmen Club does NOT stock much ammo. If you will need ammo for any or all of the 3 shoots please be sure to send them an order for ammo using the ammo order form on their web site at www.highdesertsportsmen.com . The order form is also posted here on the Host Club Shoot Information page that you reach by clicking on 2009 Championships (below). Click here to go directly to the form: AMMO.
High Desert will host the Pletcher Open on 8-10 May before our shoot and the "Red or Green ? Open" on 16-17 May after our shoot.
2009 SITE REVOTE. The 2009 ASSC will be held 11-15 May 2009 in Albuquerque. Minutes showing all officer and director votes may be found on the Director's Minutes page. Our cost per hundred is now $16.25. I expect the entry fees to be $40 per hundred, but if there are enough participants I will lower them to $38 to breakeven on the shoot. Silver has been purchased to make the coins.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 2009 shoot will see a change in most of the concurrent events to make the awards, shoot report, and all-american shoot report all match. There will be no change to total awards, but Class I concurrent awards will go to the concurrent event RU and 3rd. Brad Felton did the homework for this.
The AFSA Champions link below will take you to a page that now documents all Interservice 5MT Champions back to 1972. PLEASE contact Pat by email if you have any additions or can fill in any of the blanks.
2008 information on this web site will be deleted by 1 April to make room for 2009 results/pictures.
2010 Shoot Registration for our 50th Anniversary Shoot will be offered to all attendees in Albuquerque with two restrictions: you may only register for the squadding that you have for the 2009 ASSC, and a $100 nonrefundable deposit will be required to lock in your squadding. Shooters who do not attend the 2009 shoot or choose not to participate in this special preregistration may preregister for the 50th Anniversary 2010 ASSC on 1 Feb 2010 without paying a deposit (just like we normally do registration for a shoot). Shooters who choose to take advantage of the above in Albuquerque will still need to send in a registration form on or after 1 Feb 2010 to complete their preregistration.
The Skeet Shooting Ladies of Virginia donated a gorgeous AFSA quilt for a 2008 door prize.
